Cinnamon
Cinnamon (Cinnamomum),  is a spice obtained from the inner bark of several species of trees in the genus Cinnamomum. Cinnamon is used primarily as an aromatic spice and flavoring additive in a wide variety of cuisines, sweet and savory dishes, breakfast cereals, snack foods, tea, and traditional foods. The aroma and flavor of cinnamon derive from its essential oil and the main component cinnamaldehyde, as well as from numerous other constituents, including eugenol. Cinnamomum verum, which translates to "true cinnamon", is native to India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Myanmar. It was imported to Egypt as early as 2000 BC, and was used to embalm mummies. Due to its value, it was compared to gold. Cinnamon is a source of vitamins and minerals, containing calcium, iron, manganese, vitamins C and K, and dietary fiber.
